Create intentional learning experiences focused on positive youth development. The Graduate Certificate for Positive Youth Development (PYD) advances students’ understanding of the science and practice of working with youth to catalyze their strengths, improve outreach, and promote positive outcomes.

Gain greater understanding behind the science of youth development.

This Graduate Certificate, housed in the Department of 4-H Youth Development in the College of Agriculture, Food and Environment requires 9 credits of core materials and 3 credits of free electives approved by the Graduate Certificate Director. 

Application Requirements

  • Personal statement
    • Please include a personal statement with your application. This should include information about your experience with positive youth development as well as summarizing your interested in obtaining this Graduate Certificate.
  • Three letters of recommendation
