Help improve lives and mitigate the paradox for treatment access

Substance Use Disorders (SUD) is one of the leading causes of ER visits, behavioral health needs and death due to overdose. Despite the prevalence, access to treatment providers remain critically low. This certificate is specifically designed to help develop practitioners who are dedicated to improving the lives of those who experience substance use disorder and the families and communities who support them. The online SUD certificate creates critical and meaningful access, meeting practitioners in their space rather than requiring travel to a regional site. Additionally, this certificate provides an academic credential for professionals in a wide range of disciplines who seek to address substance misuse.

The curriculum includes both required courses and a guided elective that allows students to determine the final course that best meets their needs, whether through a practicum or through theories of intervention. The curriculum is encompassing so that ALL disciplines can benefit or a student can take as a post-baccalaureate program.
