Create opportunities for those who have physical, mental, developmental, and other disabilities as you earn a Masters in Rehabilitation Counseling (M.R.C.). Our graduates work in mental health counseling, substance abuse treatment, employee assistance programs, and other settings.
With intensive 8-week courses and two start dates a year, this program is designed for working professionals who want to become professional rehabilitation or mental health counselors. As a student in our program, you will specialize in Rehabilitation Counseling or Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling in Mental Health. Both tracks prepare you for certification as a national Certified Rehabilitation Counselor. The Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling in Mental Health track leads to licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor in most states. The Rehabilitation Counseling program is accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Education Programs (CACREP). As a graduate of this program, you will be able to:
As part of the M.R.C, you will complete fieldwork experience and a practicum at an approved site in your geographic area. Admission to the program requires an undergraduate degree from an accredited university or college with a cumulative G.P.A. of 2.75 or higher. GRE scores are not required.
Rehabilitation counselors help people with physical, mental, developmental, and emotional disabilities live independently. They work with clients to overcome or manage the personal, social, or psychological effects of disabilities on employment or independent living.
