With an ever increasing volume of electronic data at everyone's fingertips, businesses are seeking employees who are proficient in managing and extracting data efficiently and effectively. Our students learn to organize, administer and manage technology when solving problems related to information and communication. This minor can be completed fully online.

The National Research Council forecasts a need for more information scientists to manage the knowledge-intensive enterprises upon which the future US economy will be based. And the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics expects employment in the information technology sector to increase 12% by 2024*. In short, those who can effectively navigate, manage and analyze information will be in high demand.

Use the minor in Information Studies from UK’s School of Information Science to compliment your major area, developing skills that wiil make you a more attractive job candidate. This minor  will help prepare you for a wide variety of jobs such as Business Information Coordinator, Knowledge Manager, Medical Record Analyst, and Information Analyst, among others. 

Please note that undergraduate students can only complete a minor in addition to and as a complement to a major. The University does not award stand-alone minors.
