Be a clinical leader in a healthcare setting!  The Clinical Healthcare Management undergraduate certificate is designed for students who are interested in acquiring competencies related to healthcare management and developing their leadership skills. This program is advantageous for any currently enrolled UK student and practicing clinical professionals (non-degree seeking) such as nurses, physicians, dentists, physician assistants, physical therapists, respiratory therapists, and others interested in enhancing their clinical management skills.

Advance Your Career 

The Bureau of Labor Statistics identified healthcare as a growth area with opportunities for clinical managers.  This certificate will help currently practicing healthcare team members gain practical skills and knowledge to take the next step in their healthcare careers.  The certificate is also a good addition for individuals from other fields such as communication and business who may have an interest in working in healthcare, but haven’t had the chance to explore the field yet.   

 

The certificate requires 12 credit hours:  

  • HHS 241: Health & Medical Care Delivery Systems 
  • CLM 325: Introduction to Healthcare Management OR MGT 301: Management Principles (only for students who are majors in the Gatton College of Business & Economics)  
  • CLM 345: Quality, Productivity Improvement, and Evaluation  
  • An elective from a list available on our website 

 

There are two (2) methods of application:
(1) If you are a CURRENT UK student, please apply through our Clinical Healthcare Management website

(2) If you are NOT A CURRENTLY ENROLLED UK student, you must apply for admission to the certifcate through Undergraduate Admission.
