Addison Mills

Hey future Wildcats! My name is Addison Mills and I graduated from the University of Kentucky in Spring 2015. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Integrated Strategic Communications with a minor in English. I had a unique experience here at UK that was filled with lots of twists and turns and I look forward to sharing those experiences with you. I attended a KCTCS school before transferring to UK and decided to switch majors 4 times before finally deciding on my final major! 

In my time at UK I was a K-Crew leader for K-Week events, I worked as an RA, I lifted weights and played basketball at the Johnson Center 5 days a week, shot photos for the Kentucky Kernel, worked for the Office of Admissions call center, played intramural flag football and always loved a Friday night trip to Pazzo’s for bacon pineapple pizza! UK and Lexington offered me tons of ways to meet people, get involved and I  love calling UK home.

Anne Green

Hello! My name is Anne Green and I currently reside in the western suburbs of Chicago! I graduated from North Central College in 2014 with a degree in Psychology. During my undergraduate years, I was an active member of the Forensics Team, sang in an acapella group, played violin in a symphonic orchestra, and studied abroad in Greece and Italy. I fell in love with admissions during my time as a Student Ambassador and tour guide serving as a student leader.

My travel territory includes the Chicagoland area suburbs, Chicago city schools, central Illinois. My role at UK is unique, as I live in the suburbs of Chicago. This opportunity allows me to work closely with students and their families and create long lasting relationships.

Ashley Beck

Hey guys! My name is Ashley Beck, and I am so excited to share a small part of my “see blue.” story with you. Originally from Owensboro, Kentucky, I was born and raised to bleed blue! Therefore, it’s no surprise that I am a proud 2010 UK graduate, where I received a Bachelor of Arts, while majoring in both Communication and Spanish. While in college, I was a William C. Parker scholarship recipient, a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority, studied abroad in Málaga, Spain during the fall 2009 semester, and participated in many UK intramural events. My experiences at the University of Kentucky were filled with once-in-a-lifetime opportunities, and I am excited to now share in these experiences with you. One thing’s for sure, becoming a future Wildcat and member of Big Blue Nation will be one of the best decisions you will ever make!

My position is unique in that I live locally in the St. Louis area. This allows me to work closely with the students and families that I assist, which I thoroughly enjoy! My travel territories include Missouri and Southern Illinois, including: Pike, Morgan, Sangamon, Macon, Moultrie, Douglas, Edgar County, and all counties below.

Bernadette Cortez

Greetings from the bluegrass! I began my time at the University of Kentucky in the UK Visitor Center, but truly fell in love with UK and Lexington the moment I set foot on campus. From the spirit of the Big Blue Nation to the serenity of the horse parks, this atmosphere is something you need to experience for yourself. I am from the small, but lovely town of Symsonia, Kentucky in the far western part of the commonwealth.

It is my job to help make your transition from high school to college a pleasant one so please let me know if you have any questions. The most important part about choosing a university is finding a place to call home. Let me show you why you belong at UK and help you to SeeBlue!

Cara Franke

Hello, my name is Cara Franke! I am a Lexington native and a proud December 2009 graduate of the University of Kentucky. I received a Bachelor of Science in Communication and completed a Minor from the Gatton Business School. I spent three wonderful years at UK after transferring universities twice, so I understand how difficult it is to find the perfect fit for you! During my time on campus I held leadership positions with the UK 101 program, the Center for Academic and Tutorial Services, and the Discovery Seminar Program. Additionally, I got involved with Christian Student Fellowship and was a student worker at Starbucks, specializing in delicious beverages! My years at UK were filled with great experiences due to campus involvement, enriching academic curriculum, access to equine athletics, and the amazing city of Lexington!

My in-state travel territories include the following Central Kentucky counties: Anderson, Boyle, Bullitt, Franklin, Marion, Nelson, Oldham, Shelby, Spencer, and Washington. My out-of-state travel territories include Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Vermont.

Christina Bayne

Greetings! My name is Christina Bayne and I have called Georgia my home for most of my life. In 2012, I graduated from Oglethorpe University with a degree in Sociology. While in undergrad, I was very involved in admissions as an ambassador, office intern, and Sr. interviewer. I also enjoyed my time in Greek life, as an orientation leader, community service engagement and various leadership development organizations.

My travel territory includes the state of Georgia. My role is very interesting, as I live in metro Atlanta as a regional recruiter. This allows for the perfect opportunity for me to be readily available for Georgia families excited about UK!

Clayton Abernathy

Hey Everyone! My name is Clayton Abernathy and I am originally from Crescent Springs, Kentucky. I graduated from the University of Kentucky in 2016 with a major in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Political Science. During my time at UK, I served as President of Theta Chi Fraternity, Morale Coordinator of DanceBlue and News Director of the student-run radio station, WRFL 88.1 FM. Being involved on campus helped me grow as a student, person, and leader. With over 600 student organizations at the University of Kentucky, there is a place for you to make your mark on this campus! Erica Shipley

Hello! My name is Erica Shipley and I grew up in McLean, Virginia, which is a suburb of our nation’s capital! I graduated from the University of Kentucky in 2016 with a major in Integrated Strategic Communications and a minor in Digital Media and Design. Coming to UK from out-of-state, I knew that what I really wanted out of a college experience was to find a university that I could always call home, even after I had graduated. UK not only became ‘My New Kentucky Home’, it also became the place that taught me the most valuable lessons both in the classroom and out, and instilled me with leadership, selflessness, and value of others.

While I was at UK, I kept myself involved in many student organizations. I had the honor of holding leadership positions for various organizations, such as being the Overall Chair of DanceBlue in 2016, while also being passionate about other community service groups such as Best Buddies and Wrap Up America.

Grace Thompson

Hello! My name is Grace Thompson I was born and raised in Lexington, KY. I am a proud 2011 graduate of the University of Kentucky. I received my undergraduate degree in International Studies with a focus in International Development in Africa and the Middle East. During my time at UK I was a student leader at the Christian Student Fellowship, DanceBlue committee member and a member of Alpha Phi Omega service organization. My years at UK were filled with wonderful experiences being involved on campus and lifelong memories.

Jacob Westover

Hey Everyone. My name is Jacob Westover and I'm from a town called Florence, KY, otherwise known as Florence Y'ALL! I am a proud 2017 graduate of the University of Kentucky with my degree in Communications and a certificate in Leadership Studies. My time at UK has been categorized in a multitude of leadership positions and campus involvement. 

During my time at UK, I served as a Peer Mentor for the First Generation Living Learning Program, Resident Advisor, Orientation Leader, Campus Tour Guide, Parent and Family Ambassador, and K-Crew Leader. I was also involved in major campus events like FUSION and DanceBlue. I was a William C. Parker Scholarship recipient, as well as a member of the First Scholars Program. 

I absolutely loved my time at UK, and am proud to say that I am a first-generation college graduate. I know that you all will feel right at home, just as I have. I encourage you to schedule a visit and tour our beautiful campus to see what UK, and the Bluegrass state, are all about. Joshua Palmer

Hey y’all! My name is Joshua Palmer and I am a 2015 University of Kentucky graduate. I transferred to UK at the start of my Junior year and immediately fell in love with this amazing community. I completed my undergraduate career with a double major in Psychology and Communications. During my time on campus I was involved with a variety of different organizations, but my time as a student tour guide at the Visitor Center is where I found my passion for working with students.

I am so excited to work with you all as you being your college search process! Always feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns that you might have along the way. Lindsey Atkinson

Hi there! My name is Lindsey Atkinson and I am originally from Nashville, Tennessee but have fallen in love with the Bluegrass these last few years. I graduated from Georgetown College in 2013 with a degree in Communication and Media Studies and minors in Spanish and Psychology. During my time in college, I participated in Greek life, Panhellenic council, various student life organizations and studied abroad in Salamanca, Spain. When I wasn’t doing that, I stayed busy working as a Student Professional in the Office of Admission and as an intern in the Office of Academic Enhancement.

My in-state travel territory includes: Boyd, Greenup, Lewis, Carter, Johnson, Lawrence, Martin, Floyd, Letcher, Knott, Pike, Rowan, Elliott, Magoffin, Morgan, Menifee and Wolfe counties. I also work with out-of-state students from West Virginia, North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin and Michigan.

Logan Sparks

Hi everyone! My name is Logan Sparks and I am originally from Mayfield, Kentucky. I’m a proud 2013 graduate of the University of Kentucky where I received a Bachelor of Arts in Integrated Strategic Communication with a minor in Psychology. While at UK, I worked at the Visitor Center as a Campus Tour Guide, served on the K Book Editorial Board, was a very involved member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority and served on the DanceBlue leadership team. Being from a very small town in Western Kentucky, I found that by immersing myself in various campus activities and organizations I was able to make this large university feel like home!
