Everybody eats. Food not only nourishes our bodies but also brings us together and nourishes our relationships and communities. And what we eat directly affects our health and how we feel.

Throughout Appalachia, UK faculty, staff and students are working with community partners to ensure access to good food, support local food economies, and  promote healthy lifestyles through nutritious food choices and regular physical activity. Through our Cooperative Extension program, we provide a community-based gateway to current nutrition and food safety information for individuals, families, and communities, including limited resource audiences.  With numerous community partnerships we also strive to expand economic opportunity by generating and sharing knowledge of nutrition and food systems.
