Academic-Practice Partnership

The purpose of the Academic-Practice Partnership is to provide collaboration between the UK College of Nursing, UK HealthCare and Eastern State Hospital in terms of practice, research, and scholarship. This partnership began in October 2015.

There are currently two main levels of engagement:

  1. Delivery of nicotine withdrawal management and tobacco treatment services for inpatients and outpatients.
  2. Promote and facilitate evidence-based practice, research, and scholarship.

Community Engagement is the process of working collaboratively with and through groups.

An evidence-based practice is any practice that relies on scientific and mathematical evidence to form strong inductive or deductive arguments for guidance and decision-making.

The Work Learning Program was designed as a way for nurses to further their education and advance their careers, and to prepare these nurses for practice and leadership.
