This policy brief summarizes tobacco treatment policies and practices for Community Mental Health Centers (CMHCs) in Kentucky. CMHC's provide services to people living with mental illness. Based on CDC estimates, adults with mental illness consume about 41% of all tobacco products. There are existing clinical tobacco treatment guidelines. However, as with most other organizations, most Kentucky CMHCs do not fully adhere to the recommended guidelines.
