Graduate Student Workshop: Co-Constructing Knowledge: Collaborative Pedagogy in the Classroom
Study Room 1, Lucille Little Fine Arts Library
Thursday, February 22, 2018 - 5:00pm
Event concludes at 6:15.
Collaborative learning is the use of student groups in the classroom to enhance engagement and learning. Instructors are often met with resistance from students to this pedagogical approach despite extensive educational research that finds collaborative learning enhances student success and belonging in the classroom. Participants in this workshop will learn and discuss the reasons for and potential pitfalls of collaborative learning. We will also focus on different approaches to group learning, assignments, and assessment.
