Smart Campus Series: Visual Media and Assignments with iPads
502 King Science and Engineering Library
Thursday, March 5, 2020 - 12:30pm
Event concludes at 1:30.
As part of the Smart Campus Initiative, all incoming first-year students receive iPads. These can be powerful tools for learning and digital equity, especially when instructors feel prepared to address them in curricula and class management. This session of our Smart Campus Series will focus on visual media as a process of learning and communicating course concepts: from design principles, to technical execution, to pedagogical reinforcement, to scaffolding, feedback, and assessment. We will spend the majority of our time playing with the apps and exploring different ways that they can be leveraged for learning activities across the disciplines.
We will be able to provide a small number of loaner iPads, but if you have one of your own, please bring it to the session. We embrace cross-device compatibility, meaning that the apps can run on other devices, e.g., laptop, Internet browser.
