Amy Karr is an Academic Advisor for the Human Health Sciences students within the College of Health Sciences. She is from Bullitt County, Kentucky where she returned as a high school English teacher after earning her Bachelor’s degree in English and Secondary Education at Bellarmine University followed by her Master’s degree in English at the University of Louisville.
Prior to working for the UK College of Health Sciences, Amy worked as the Health Professions Advisor for the special master’s program at Eastern Virginia Medical School helping students on their paths to becoming physicians. During her time at EVMS she assisted students with medical school applications and presented workshops on admissions strategies.
Outside of the office, Amy enjoys reading, knitting, and spending time with her loved ones. You can often find her staring at the beautiful flowers growing around Lexington.
