Frailty- Impact of Translational Science

LaDora Thompson, PT, PhD, is the Travis M. Roy Endowed Professor in Rehabilitation Sciences at Boston University College of Health & Rehabilitation Sciences: Sargent College. Her scientific expertise is in the areas of muscle physiology and protein structure/function. Dr. Thompson’s research contributions over the past 20 years are in the fields of skeletal muscle aging and disease; however, recently her research program developed a mouse phenotype to identify frailty, which was patterned after the frailty phenotype used in clinical and community settings. Dr. Thompson’s research program has been funded by NIA/NIH, she has served on numerous NIH study sections and in leadership positions of professional organizations, and Chaired several Gordon Research Conferences.
