Identification of Therapeutic Targets for the Treatment of Post-Traumatic Knee Osteoarthritis

Dr. Tourville’s research area includes the treatment of post-traumatic osteoarthritis and chronic disease with therapeutic exercise and its relationship with changes in biochemical, biomechanical, MRI, clinical- and patient-oriented outcomes. His work also includes osteoarthritis imaging (radiographic and MRI) and biomarker evaluation, effectiveness of surgical techniques and rehabilitation following orthopedic injuries, physical activity as it relates to the prevention, evaluation, and rehabilitation of orthopaedic injuries.
 
In addition to his role in the Department of Rehabilitation and Movement Science, Dr. Tourville holds a secondary appointment as assistant professor in the McClure Musculoskeletal Research Center in the Department of Orthopaedics & Rehabilitation of The University of Vermont Larner College of Medicine. He has served as lecturer in the UVM College of Nursing and Health Sciences' Athletic Training Program and also as a clinical research specialist and project coordinator for the McClure Musculoskeletal Research Center.
