Welcome to National Athletic Training Month!
National Athletic Training Month is held every March in order to spread awareness about the important work of athletic trainers. In celebration of the month, we will be showcasing one AT each week for the next 30 days — "Our May 2022 graduates — the first of our program," said Johanna Hoch, PhD, ATC and Program Director of the Professional Masters in Athletic Training.
Emalee, Johnson, MS, ATC, LAT, is currently a UK Athletic Training fellow working with women’s tennis and cheer. We asked her a couple of questions to kick-off the month:
My favorite thing about my role is all of my athletes and co-workers that I’m blessed to work with. They’ve became my family.
Always be professional, but also don’t take life too seriously. There is nothing worth sacrificing your joy over. In that same breath, when stress does creep in, learn to celebrate all the victories, even the small ones.
Look for more examples of athletic trainers in the coming weeks.
