Hong Kong Polytechnic University

This academic outpatient clinic on the university campus of Hong Kong Polytechnic University provides clinical instructors who speak English, though patients may speak Cantonese.  Faculty who spent time there highly recommend this environment.

International Service Learning - UK Shoulder to Shoulder Global Ecuador

Each year three interprofesssional teams of faculty and students travel to a resource-limited community near Santo Domingo, Ecuador to provide service to the community in an effort to improve health. Centro de Salud Hombro A Hombro (Shoulder to Shoulder Health Center) is located in the community and serves as our central service area.  During this ten day service effort, students chosen to participate work shoulder –to-shoulder with physical therapists and other health care providers – a rich opportunity for learning in a unique environment.

International Service Learning - UK Shoulder to Shoulder Global India

An interprofessional team of approximately 10- 15 travels to Mayasandra/Karnataka/Bengaluru (formerly Bangalore), India to support a well-established program in a school with a goal to improve care of children with special needs.  This is truly an interprofessional immersion experience in pediatrics.  A physician in India who had close ties to U of KY established this program – his family is eager to collaborate with all professionals.
