There will be a William Maxwell Reed Seminar on Thursday, 1/30/14, from 3:30-4:30pm in Room 323 RMB. Mr. Jeremy Brown, Doctoral Candidate, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan, will be giving the talk and you can view his bio and the abstract of the talk on flyers that will be posted around the College of Engineering.
There will be a reception prior to the seminar, at 3:15pm in 324 RMB—please come meet the speaker!!
Congratulations to Nikki Etter who was recently selected to receive a 2014 Endeavour Research Fellowship as a post-doctoral scholar at the University of Sydney, Australia! Nikki will be working alongside Dr. Kirrie Ballard at the University of Sydney on a recently funded project titled "A new model of human speech production through computational modeling and human functional brain imaging". This grant is also in collaboration with Dr. Guenther and Dr. Tourville at Boston University.
The Office of Research invites you to apply for CHS pilot funds to support research initiatives! Three awards will be available this year: one $15,000 award and two $5,000 awards.

The Center for Clinical and Translational Science invites you to learn about theResearchMatch (RM) registry. There is an online training for researchers this Thursday, November 14, 2013 at 3p-4p EST that you can sign up for and ask questions. ResearchMatch is funded by the CTSA and NIH. The registry is a recruitment tool (created by Vanderbilt University), that will help connect willing participants with researchers who are searching for appropriate participants to be placed in their research studies.
Congratulations to Christine Waters-Banker (2013 RHB Graduate), Dr. Timothy Butterfield and Dr. Esther Dupont-Versteegden for their recent publication in the Journal of Applied Physiology entitled "Immunomodulatory Effects of Massage on Non-Perturbed Skeletal Muscle in Rats".
