Ambassador Applications

New Applicants

The College of Health Sciences (CHS) Ambassadors is a select group of students who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in academics and student leadership. The College of Health Sciences Ambassadors serve the college and assist with student recruitment, speak to community and university groups, plan social, philanthropic and educational activities for peers, and represent the college at receptions and meetings. Health Sciences Ambassadors participate in CHS events such as Hall of Fame Induction and Student Scholarship Dinner, Annual National Allied Health Week, Advisory and Philanthropy Board Meetings and alumni receptions. Ambassadors also serve as hosts at various meetings, conferences and events, both on and off-campus. Further, Ambassadors support the recruitment of new students into the college.  Serving as an Ambassador is an honor and a distinction. 

In order to be considered, applicants must:

  • Be a team player.
  • Be highly motivated, energetic, dependable and knowledgeable.
  • Be able to demonstrate outstanding leadership skills.
  • Be able to commit to at least one year of service.
  • Be an enrolled in a formal program in the College of Health Sciences (undergraduate or graduate).
  • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
  • Be willing to participate in occasional evening and weekend activities.
  • Attend the majority of Ambassador-planned events, or as needed, and attend all specific college events (listed below).

Specifically, Ambassadors shall be expected to:

  • Participate in no less than 2 College recruitment events each semester.
  • Assist with National Allied Health Week
  • Attend special Dinner with the Dean event
  • Attend holiday celebration event
  • Participate in the CHS Thank-A-Thon
  • Assist with CHS Hall of Fame event
  • Assist with other Alumni-related events (not announced here) given appropriate notice of 2 weeks.

Failure to fulfill these as well as any other responsibility stated above will impact reselection status.

Other Important Dates You must be available on the following dates to take part in the Ambassador program.

Week of April 16th-20th - Face-to-Face Interviews (to be scheduled individually)

Late August -  Required retreat and training (possibly overnight), specific details to be provided during interviews.

Chair (or co-chair) an event committee and ensure outlined goals and objectives are met and accomplished *

Ambassador Application for Current Members  2018

In addition to completion of this application, current Ambassadors must participate in an interview/presentation.  The criteria to this presentation will be sent in a separate email message. 

The following represents a partial list of responsibilities regarding the Ambassador role.

  • Attend the majority of Ambassador-planned events, or as needed, and attend all specific college events (listed below). 
     

In addition, the Ambassadors shall be expected to:  

  • Participate in no less than 2 College recruitment events each semester.
  • Dinner with the Dean (September)
  • Assist with CHS Golf Scramble (September/October)
  • Assist with National Allied Health Week (November)
  • Holiday Celebration (December)
  • Participate in the CHS Thank-A-Thon (early-mid Spring)
  • Assist with CHS Hall of Fame event (April)
  • Assist with other Alumni-related events (not announced here) given appropriate notice of 2 weeks

If compensation is available, satisfying the conditions of a points system (to be defined via contract agreement) will be necessary to earn any awards.
