Congratulations to all our 2023 graduates in the College of Health Sciences!

On Dec. 15, the fall semester wrapped up with our annual commencement ceremonies. 

Our latest CHS graduates were honored, and they celebrated as they prepare to go out and help the citizens of our Commonwealth and world.

Angela Phipps, Student Affairs Officer and Academic Advisor in the Center of Excellence in Rural Health, has been named the recipient of a 2023 Outstanding Staff Award.

Over the weekend, winners were announced in the 2023 Outstanding Staff Awards, and Phipps — who was nominated by students — won that category.

She always loved going beyond the lecture, applying her knowledge in experiential situations outside the classroom. Then, her life became a lesson in itself. 

Meet Katelyn McNamara, PT, DPT. A native of Lexington, McNamara is a Pediatric Physical Therapist at Norton Children’s Hospital in Louisville.

There are 24 posters accepted, of which eight are from students and faculty at the University of Kentucky.

Another student group is presenting their research orally. Congratulations Bryson, Trent and Rebecca for your work with Dr. Hazle and Dr. Boissonnault.
