Kirsten is a junior in the College of Health Sciences on the Pre-PA track and she is hoping to attend medical school next year! Kirsten grew up in Fort Wright, Kentucky and decided to come to the University of Kentucky because she had never felt a more welcoming community that could help her grow into the successful person she aspired to be. Besides being a CHS ambassador, Kirsten is a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority, on the Family Relations Committee for DanceBlue, a mentor for a 10-year-old girl, and a Chemistry tutor at The Study. Kirsten would recommend the College of Health Sciences to any student interested in pursuing a career in healthcare due to the wholistic learning approach that she has experienced her past three years. Kirsten's favorite part about the College of Health Sciences is that it is one big family, she states, "I have never felt more loved and appreciated than by the College of Health Sciences. I have met my best friends here, and more importantly I have been able to grow as individual and professional." Kirsten also credits finding her current research, in Dr. John Gensel's Spinal Cord and Brain Injury Research Lab, to her peers in the CHS. Her favorite part about being a CHS ambassador is getting to meet perspective students and show them what it would be like to be a part of not only the BBN family, but the CHS family.
