Hi there! My name is Lauren Johnson, and I am from Owensboro, Kentucky. As a native Kentuckian, I had always known that I was going to be a Kentucky Wildcat one day. The University of Kentucky, especially the College of Health Sciences, has been an amazing place to call home throughout my time pursuing my undergraduate degree. I am a senior here at UK and within the College of Health Sciences I am majoring in Clinical Leadership and Management with a minor in Health Advocacy. After graduation I plan on furthering my education and am looking at dual degree programs to earn my Master of Healthcare Administration and Master of Public Health. In the future, I want to work in health administration and healthcare policy to help create a more equitable and accessible healthcare system for underserved and underrepresented populations.
The College of Health Sciences has given me countless opportunities to meet new people and form life-long connections with not only peers, but professors and administrators in the college and around UK. As an incoming freshman, I would advise you to reach out to other students, professors, advisors, as well as join clubs and organizations! Getting involved on and off campus has many benefits and is rewarding in so many ways. I hope you, too, can experience all of the greatness that UK and the College of Health Sciences has to offer! As a CHS Student Ambassador, I cannot wait to meet and share my experiences with prospective students. Please feel free to reach out to me, or other CHS Student Ambassadors, with any questions you may have. I can’t wait to hear from you!
