Mikailyn joined the Department of Communication Sciences & Disorders in 2018. She is responsible for departmental budget management, academic and clinic support, program recruitment, and administrative assistance to CSD faculty, students and alumni. Mikailyn currently serves as the Co-Advisor for the UK Chapter of the National Student Speech Language Hearing Association, and is the Program Coordinator for the HRSA SUCCESS in Speech-Language Pathology: Strengthening Underserved Communities through Enhanced Student Support scholarship. From 2019-2020, she served as Chair for the College of Health Sciences Staff Council.
She is a 2007 graduate of the University of Kentucky with a B.A. in Journalism and a Minor in Communications. In 2019, she completed a Graduate Certificate in Public Financial Management from the Martin School of Public Policy at UK. A spirited CATS fan, she was a member of the UK Dance Team and Alpha Delta Pi.
Mikailyn worked professionally as a Realtor in her hometown of Ashland, Kentucky, and was an active board member for the Ashland Area Board of Realtors, the Paramount Arts Center Board of Directors and the Young Professionals Association Board of Directors. Since returning to Lexington in 2013, she has served on the American Diabetes Association Gala Committee and enjoys volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House.
