The Senior Investigator award is given in recognition of the establishment of a productive, independently funded research program that makes a major impact in his/her discipline. The recipient of this year’s Senior Investigator Award goes to Dr. Brian Noehren. Dr. Noehren has distinguished himself as a successful researcher as Primary Investigator and Co-Investigator on several grants and has even supported himself through acquisition of a KL2 award through the NIH’s Center for Translational Sciences. We are excited to announce that his latest R01 submission scored in the fourth percentile and anticipate that it will be funded soon. In addition to grant funding, Dr. Noehren has presented 55 national platform or poster presentations and published 23 papers and one book chapter during his time at UK. His passion for research has extended to his mentorship of junior faculty, post-docs, and students and he was recognized at the 12th Annual CCTS Spring Conference as a recipient of the CCTS Mentor Award. Dr. Noehren was also recognized this year by the American Physical Therapy Association as the recipient of the Eugene Michels New Investigator Award. Congratulations to Dr. Noehren!
