Charlotte Peterson, PhD, receives the Glenn Award for Research in Biological Mechanisms of Aging

Dr. Charlotte Peterson, Joseph Hamburg Endowed Professor, received the prestigious Glenn Award for Research in Biological Mechanisms of Aging from the Glenn Foundation for Medical Research. The Glenn Foundation's mission is "to extend the healthy years of life through research on mechanisms of biology that govern normal human aging and its related physiological decline, with the objective of translating research into interventions that will extend healthspan with lifespan." The Foundation initiated the award in 2007 to provide unsolicited funds to researchers investigating the biology of aging. Recipients are nominated by a scientific advisory committee. Dr. Peterson's award includes $60,000 in unsolicited funds to augment the research in her laboratory. In an era of hyper-competitive research funding, this award of unsolicited funds speaks to her research excellence and productivity. Please join the College of Health Sciences in congratulating Dr. Peterson on this achievement.
