We are doing something special

This state-wide residency matches 18 trainees in 12 specialties at 8 institutions including our academic medical center and surrounding community hospitals. We provide excellent clinical training with an academic foundation, so our residents are workforce ready. Our goal is to develop well-trained PA residents who can increase access to health care in Kentucky and beyond.

We are developing PA leaders

Our program is led by a team of PAs and physicians who are developing the next generation of PA leaders. We are proud to partner with our physician colleagues both in the academic and clinic arenas as we train the future leaders of the PA profession. Our residents work with the entire medical team who serve as mentors throughout the training experience.

We are making a difference

In just 3 short years we have trained 22 residents who upon completion of the residency work as PAs where they are serving their communities to increase access to health care. We have partnerships with 8 institutions covering the entire state because we believe in training PAs to work in urban and rural settings.

Kentucky is known for its southern hospitality, and this residency offers you the opportunity to experience that for yourself. Each of our tracks are within the Bluegrass state. Regardless of the site you match with, you are part of our UK family.
