Hi everyone! I am so excited for the upcoming year. My name is Raeven Harris, and I am a Senior Human Health Sciences major, with a minor in health advocacy, on the pre-dental track. I grew up in Paducah, KY, which is a very small town. My plan is to become a General Dentist and start a private practice in under-represented communities across the states.
In the past, I have been involved in College Mentors for kids, the Pre-Dental Society, and the Summer Health Professions Education Program (SHPEP). Currently, I am a UK 101 peer instructor, K-Crew leader, and a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc, Student Support Services, and the National Panhellenic Council here on campus. I also serve as a charter member and secretary for the Undergraduate Student National Dental Association (USNDA), which focuses on the advancement and retention of minority students within the field of dentistry. This is new student organization here on campus, so if you are interested in dentistry, check it out!
One thing I am passionate about is diversity in the healthcare field and the College of Health Science helps contribute to that. This program has changed the way I look at healthcare and made an everlasting impact on the community. Healthcare is constantly changing and growing, and we are the future. If you are interested in healthcare, follow your dreams, and never give up.
Please reach out if you have any questions, I love meeting new people!
