Have you ever sprained your ankle? 

Who: 

  • Are 18 years of age or older;
  • Have a history of one or more ankle sprains;
  • Have had NO head or lower body injury in the past 3 months; and
  • Have NO previous lower body fracture or surgery

Purpose: 

  • To examine the effects of a current treatment modality on balance and its components.

Contact: 

Notes: 

  • This study may require up to 6 visits with some lasting as long as 2 hours.
  • Participants will be compensated for their time.

Shoulder - Are you a healthy adult over the age of 18? 

Who: 

  • Are over the age of 18 
  • Can lift both arms at least above shoulder level

Purpose: 

  • To examine a new technique to measure shoulder blade motion. This study will validate a new method to help individuals with shoulder injuries.

  • Participants will be compensated for their time.

Yoga 

Who: 

  • Are between the age of 40 and 64
  • Have not been diagnosed with a balance, vestibular, or respiratory disorder
  • Have not been diagnosed with a head or neck injury in the last 12 months
  • ​Do not have any musculoskeletal injury or condition that would prevent you from performing moments in a basic yoga class

Purpose: 

  • To determine if an 8-week course of yoga can improve balance and health-related quality of life in middle-aged adults with and without a history of ankle sprain

Contact: 


Rucking 

Who: 

  • Males and Females ages 18-30
  • Injury-free in the past 12 months 
  • Able to carry 30 lbs of load for at least 60 minutes, once a month 

Purpose: 

  • To measure how rucking changes your biomechanics during running or landing

Do you have Low Back Pain? 

Who: 

  • Males and Females ages 18-30
  • Experiencing low back pain for 4 months or more
  • No lower extremity injuries in the past 12 months
  • ​No previous history of lower extremity surgery 

Purpose: 

  • To assess running and landing biomechanics in individuals with low back pain

Have you injured your ACL?  

Who: 

  • Females 
  • No history of two-sided ACL injuries or damage within the last 3 month 
  • Have no concussions within the past 6 months 
  • Are not pregnant 

Purpose: 

  • To learn how physical activity and how educational therapy can affect the brain and functioning of individuals after ACL surgery.
