Resilient public alert and warning tools are essential to save lives and protect property during times of emergencies. The University of Kentucky utilizes various forms of communication to notify all faculty, staff, students and visitors on campus. Having a redundant means of communication is necessary to persuade individuals to act during an emergency. These include notifications from UK Alert, LiveSafe and Blue Emergency Towers. 

 

The University emergency notification system to communicate official information during an emergency or crisis situation that disrupts normal campus operations or threatens the immediate health or safety of members of the campus community.

A free safety app to report suspicious activity and potential risks directly and anonymously with the University of Kentucky Police Department. 

Placed throughout campus, Blue Emergency Towers are a multi-purpose safety tool including immediate connection to UKPD dispatch and outdoor notification speakers for UK Alert.
