October 28th: CDC Division of Violence Prevention Webinar: Geographic and Sociodemographic Concentration of Firearm Homicide
Author Dr. Scott Kegler and Division of Violence Prevention Director Dr. Jim Mercy discuss the recent publication, A Descriptive Exploration of the Geographic and Sociodemographic Concentration of Firearm Homicide in the United States, 2004 – 2018. This study examined county-level data to identify high concentrations of firearm homicide and potential changes in concentration over time, as well as associations between rates of firearm homicide and urbanization, poverty, and ethnicity/race. This brief webinar will cover key findings and implications for prevention.
