Students Study International Perspectives on Distance Education in Canada
Belva Collins and Constance Baird led a group of students enrolled in the Distance Education Graduate Certificate on a trip to Vancouver, Canada in July to study international perspectives on distance education. While there, the group attended the International Perspectives on Technology-Enhanced Learning (IPTEL) Conference co-sponsored by the University of British Columbia Faculty of Education, the University of British Columbia Centre for Teaching, Learning, and Technology, and the University of Kentucky. Highlights of the conference included keynote addresses by Jeff Miller (Senior Manager, Flexible Learning Initiative with the Centre for Teaching, Learning, and Technology, University of British Columbia), Erica Frank (President and Executive Director of NextGenU.org), and Tony Bates (President and CEO of Tony Bates Associates, LTD, and author of Managing Technology in Higher Education).
