Kentucky Health Information Exchange (KHIE) - Partnering to Improve Health Outcomes

It is the intention that throughout the upcoming year, the BECKY Core Public Health Subcommittee will provide updated information on resources that public health professionals can access every day! The Core Public Health Subcommittee will be hosting a webinar on the Kentucky-designed statewide health information exchange, KHIE, on March 24, 2017 at 10:00AM EST.   Polly Mullins-Bentley, the Deputy Executive Director of KHIE, will provide an overview of the history of electronic health information in the state of Kentucky and the vision for how health information exchange can improve medical care throughout the state. This webinar will include information useful to epidemiologists, infection control nurses, and local health departments. KHIE can provide many benefits to LHDs including transmissions of reportable disease information, immunizations, surveillance, investigations, electronic reportable laboratory and cancer cases.  Other helpful information to be discussed in this webinar includes how to gain access to KHIE and the assigned regional contacts.

This webinar will provide a high level overview of the Kentucky Health Information Exchange (KHIE), the state-designated, statewide health information exchange in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. The attendee will become familiar with the history of e-health in Kentucky and the vision for how the health information exchange can facilitate improved care coordination, care quality and population health.
