NAGPS Midwest Regional Conference Committee
The Graduate Student Congress is an organizational active member of the National Association of Graduate-Professional Students (NAGPS) a student-run national, non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life of graduate & professional students across the United States. NAGPS is structured in five different regions (each one with an executive board) and a National Board of Directors. Every year the organization holds one National Conference and Regional Conferences in each of the five regions (Southeast, Northeast, Southcentral, Midwest, and Western).
As a way to promote interdisciplinary collaboration within the University of Kentucky and create solid connections with other universities around the Midwest region, the GSC is working to be the host of the NAGPS Midwest Regional Conference in 2019. The creation of an ad hoc committee was one of the first steps towards the organization of an event which the main purpose is to be a source of professional development, advocacy, and well-being for all graduate students in the Midwest region.
