All Graduate students in good standards are automatically considered members of the Graduate Student Congress. Representatives are voting members who are elected by their departmental/organizational peers or by Director of Graduate Studies each August.
Representatives shall be elected via a democratic process by a relevant Graduate Student Organization (GSO), or, in the absence of a relevant GSO, shall be nominated by their Director of Graduate Studies (DGS) for the relevant program. Otherwise, the Executive Board may vote to authorize a member to hold an empty Representative Seat as necessary. For more information see the relevant by-law.
Below is the list of graduate student representatives for 2017-2018. If your program lacks a representative, it means that this position is available so go for it!
