Q: I decided that I want to live off-campus, why am I still being charged?

A: When you applied to live in Undergraduate Housing you selected a meal plan and agreed to terms of the contract. These terms include the cancelation schedule. This determines the amount that you will be charged based on the date that you cancel your Housing and Dining application.  You agreed to these terms online and were sent an email confirmation to your official UK email address.

Q: If I want to move to my fraternity or sorority house at the semester break do I have to pay a fee?

A: Yes, your rental Undergraduate Housing contract is for the entire academic year (fall and spring semesters). If you choose to break it you will be charge 50% of the spring rate for housing and dining.

Q: If I want to move out of my residence hall at the semester break do I have to pay a fee?

A: Yes, your Undergraduate Housing contract is for the entire academic year (fall and spring semesters). If you choose to break it you will be charge 50% of the spring rate for housing and dining.

Q: What if I have extenuating circumstances that require that I cancel my Housing contract?

A: Please review the Criteria for Requesting Release tab (left) to learn about reasons that are acceptable for appeal. Then fully complete the Form To Request Release (left) to be considered for an appeal. Please keep in mind that the committee will only review information that is supplied on this form so please be thorough. Once your appeal is submitted, you will need to supply Supporting Documentation (left) to be reviewed by the committee.
