The Honors Residential Experience

Changes to Honors campus housing are in store for the 2024-25 school year. In order to simplify access and align resources, the new Honors Residential Experience (formerly known as the Community of Scholars LLP) will combine academic resources available to Lewis Honors College students with a communal living environment.

Live among like-minded peers who are intellectually curious and prioritize their studies, well-being, and community. The Honors Residential Experience is housed in both Lewis and Haggin Halls which are located on Central Campus next to the Lewis Honors College, Jacobs Science Building, and the W.T. Young Library. Spaces are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Don’t miss the chance to elevate your University of Kentucky experience by living in a community specifically designed for academic growth and social enrichment.

Returning Honors Students:

The University of Kentucky Housing Application for the 2024-25 school year is available starting Tuesday, September 5, 2023. Returning Honors students should complete their application for housing. There is no longer an additional application to live in the Honors residence halls. Room selection for returning Honors students will begin Monday, October 9, 2023 and will continue on a first-come, first-served basis. Room selection will be focused in Lewis and Haggin Halls.

New Honors Students:

Admissions decisions for the incoming Honors class will be available on February 15, 2024. New students admitted to the Lewis Honors College are automatically eligible for the Honors Residential Experience. No separate application is needed. However, admissions to the Honors College does not guarantee a room in either of the specified halls. Prospective and new students need to first complete the University of Kentucky Housing Application. Those who are eligible will participate in the priority room selection window starting Monday, March 4, 2024.

Roommate Selection:
Both returning and new Honors students have the ability to bring a roommate of their choosing with them into the space. The roommate must be a University of Kentucky student but does not need to be enrolled in the Lewis Honors College. In these cases, roommates should be aware that there are no connected courses or programming. Honors students who want to room with a non-Honors student will need to provide roommate information directly to UK Housing during the room selection process.
