Owen receives ASHS Early Career Award

The Department of Horticulture's Dr. W. Garrett Owen has been selected as the recipient of the 2022 American Society for Horticultural Science (ASHS) Early Career Award for Extension and Outreach. The ASHS Professional Early Career Awards recognize ASHS members for outstanding contributions to horticultural science through their professional activities within seven years of completing their final degrees (B.S., M.S., Ph.D., etc.) prior to their employment. Dr. Owen joined the Department of Horticulture in May of 2020 as an assistant professor of floriculture and hydroponic food crop production in greenhouses and controlled environments. Career Award recipients will be honored at the Awards Ceremony on Sunday, July 31^st, 2022, during the 119^th ASHS Annual Conference at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare Chicago. Congratulations, Dr. Owen!
