About the CI Connect Learning Community
The CI Connect Living Learning Program (LLP) offers first-year students who have declared a major in the College of Communication and Information the opportunity to “connect” with other students, college faculty and College staff, all from the comfort of UK’s elite residence hall, Jewell Hall. LLP’s allow students to blur the lines between living (residence hall) and learning (classroom) since most program activities take place inside the residence hall.
The CI Connect Community is looking for first year students who are enrolled in any degree program within the College of Communication and Information. It is open to any undergraduate student with a major in the college.
All CI Connect students will enroll in one connected course in the fall semester and one connected course in the spring semester. These courses are specifically designed for majors in the College of Communication and Information. This schedule leaves the bulk of credit hours available each semester to pursue outside interests and other areas of concentration.
All students who participate in the CI Connect Learning Community will reside in Jewell Hall located in the north campus neighborhood.
As a member of CI Connect, students will participate in a wide variety of programs available every month in the hall or at a nearby campus facility. Programs will offer training and information on topics specific to individual majors as well as projects beneficial to all majors in the college. Students will also have the opportunity to attend lectures from college faculty about research studies and get involved with research activities. Most importantly, programs will provide students with the tools and the resources to reach their highest potential within the College of Communication and Information.
