Elder presentation on practical tools for ending the caregiver stress cycle
Everyone feels stress but caregivers live with additional stressors. Stress is a physical and mental reaction to life experiences. If we are in a chronic state of stress and our stress level remains too high for too long, it can affect both our mental and physical health. Rhonda will discuss ways to help us work through our reactions to stress, and how to give our mind and body the time and tools needed to recover. Many of these tools are derived from the book, Burnout: The Secret to Unlocking the Stress Cycle, (Drs. Amelia and Emily Nagoski), where they tell us that completing the ‘stress cycle’ is the most effective way to avoid burnout and emotional exhaustion.
