Already on the frontlines in researching and combating opioid abuse, the HEALing Communities Study places UK squarely among the country’s leaders in finding long-term, sustainable solutions to this epidemic. The study will leverage existing resources and initiatives, in partnership with communities, to implement strategies and set evidence-based standards that will become a national model for fighting the opioid epidemic.

As part of this effort, we expect to fill dozens of positions in 16 counties. These jobs include community coordinators, prevention specialists and peer prevention specialists.

Nurse or Social Worker - Franklin

Bluegrass Care Navigators
County: Franklin
The successful candidate will work within assigned county to assess, link, and retain individuals with opioid use disorder with treatment programs to assist them in obtaining recovery and remission. BSN, RN, BSW or BASW, plus 2 years transition/nursing or case management, and addiction medicine experience preferred. Skilled in nursing or social work practice, able to cope with family emotional stress and tolerant of individual lifestyles. Knowledge of disease processes, addiction medicine, symptom management, coaching process and community and health resources. This position will be employed by Bluegrass Care Navigators and considered a member of the HEALing Communities Study - Kentucky team.

Nurse Supervisor - Fayette

This position assists in program development, management and evaluation. Is responsible for supervising transition/navigator staff, clinical and non-clinical. Responsible for coordinating all transition/navigation services in the community and home. The position manages the clinical navigation protocols for the HEALing Communities Study - Kentucky, and is responsible for overseeing data collection, management and evaluation of the employees hired for this study.

Recovery Coach - Fayette

Voices of Hope (VOH) is looking for a full time Recovery Coach who will be located in Fayette County to provide recovery support services in identified criminal justice and behavioral health settings serving as a motivator, recovery resource broker, mentor, and liaison to people with opioid use disorder and their families. This position will be working on the HEAL grant and directly with the HEAL team but will report to Voices of Hope in Lexington, KY.
Requirements include: High School Diploma or GED; Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel; Reliable transportation required; Ability to work within a variety of settings; Availability to work a flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours.
Qualifications include: Qualifications: Experience with the addiction recovery process; Understanding of medication for opioid use disorder; Familiarity with local support services, resources and recovery community; Capability of building an effective coach-recoveree relationship; Demonstrated skill in actively listening, asking good questions, awareness of self and treating people as resources; Understanding of and ability to maintain appropriate boundaries; Cross-cultural skills, and experience with culturally diverse populations; Bilingual abilities are a plus; Experience with MOUD (e.g, methadone or buprenorphine) as part of your own pathway of recovery is a plus; Strong customer service ethic essential.
