In between STEPS jobs, Gary Young enjoys traveling to his second-home, a water-front cottage on Herrington Lake.
Young retired in 2007 from a career including secondary education and computer systems / development. Since 2008, he's worked in more than 17 areas within the University in temporary STEPS positions.
Currently, Gary works for the UK HealthCare Voice and Swallow Clinic in an administrative support role. What he enjoys most about this, and many other STEPS positions, is that he works on an as-needed basis:
Because I'm reliable and available, the director of the clinic appreciates that she can always call me in. Likewise, I appreciate being able to let her know in advance when I'll be away at the cottage.
