National Student Employee Appreciation Week takes place every year during the second full week of April. This week is an opportunity for institutions to recognize student’s employees for their vital contributions.
At UK, more than 5,000 students work on campus and play a key role in the success of daily operations. UK Human Resources has partnered with the Office of Student Success in sponsoring Student Employee Appreciation Week events. We hope student employees will join us to celebrate their hard work and dedication.
Student Employee Appreciation Week April 8-12
Monday: Free Cookies and Lemonade; Trivia
Cookies and Lemonade: Student Employees are welcome to stop by and grab free food and to go or stay and learn more about the services offered through the MoneyCats. Cookies and lemonade offered while supplies last. Please RSVP to this event.
Location: Cats Den at the Gatton Student Center Room, 160 Avenue of Champions, Lexington, KY
When: Noon - 1:30 p.m.
Trivia: Trivia Night hosted by HR Student Employment at the Young Auditorium in the W.T. Young Library. Test your knowledge and win exciting prizes, including gift certificates from Breakout Games, Battle Axes, and Chick-fil-A.

Tuesday: Free Donuts
Drop-in event with Federal Work Study. Located at the Study Central at the Boone Center. Enjoy delicious donuts generously donated by North Lime Donuts. Stop by or stick around and learn about job opportunities from FWS and Student Employment. Please RSVP to this event.

Wednesday: Free Pizza; Refocus Workshop
Free Pizza: Join us at the Stuckert Career Center for a Drop-in Event with pizza donated by Jet's Pizza. Swing by room 101 for a slice, and don't forget to grab a free T-shirt from the Career Center too. Learn more about the services offered by SCC while enjoying some delicious pizza!

Refocus Workshop: This workshop is a great opportunity to explore your work and study habits and understand the obstacles that prevent you from staying on task. You will go over what makes it harder to focus, learn about common strategies to increase focus and improve habits, and establish some adaptive approaches to getting your work done.
