Caring for a person with dementia is a journey of uncertainty, day-to-day frustration, vexing challenges and grief. Care partners can easily become overwhelmed with the responsibilities of their personal, family, professional and caregiving duties. And those with dementia may be frightened of the changes they are experiencing and how those changes affect their ability to participate in everyday life.

Dementia is progressive; your loved one’s abilities to function in the world will decline.

Caregivers need information and solutions. UK HR Elder Care wants to help you find that understanding. Having a better understanding of what is causing dementia’s strange, out-of-the-ordinary behaviors will help you care better for both your loved one and yourself.

Join us Friday, November 5 for our 6th annual Senior Caregiving Conference featuring Teepa Snow. Teepa is a nationally recognized dementia care educator and trainer. She has developed a dementia care philosophy reflective of her education, work experience, medical research and first-hand caregiving experiences.

Teepa’s two-hour webinar presentation will cover two topic areas:

  • 10-11 a.m.: Why do They Do That? Understanding symptoms and situations in dementia
  • 11-11:50 a.m.: Creative and practical tips for getting through the day
  • 11:50 a.m. – noon: Q & A

For more information about this year’s Conference and to register please click HERE.

If you want to participate as part of a group, this year we will be hosting a watch party in the Multipurpose Room of the W. T. Young Library. At noon, we will host a post-webinar discussion along with a boxed lunch. This event is free but limited to 30 people. Advance registration is required. For more information on the watch party and to register click HERE .

All webinar attendees will receive an online conference program listing all our contributing sponsors. Check out this year’s sponsors on the 2021 Senior Caregiving Conference website.

Caregivers want to provide the best care possible for their loved one. Having the necessary understanding, tools and support, whether it’s for future reference or for an immediate need, is an important caregiving step.
