Due to COVID-19, UK HR Health and Wellness is currently performing virtual visits.

What are my options for participating?

Schedule and attend a free review of your overall well-being. Your 20-minute appointment with a wellness advisor includes:

  • A review of a pre-completed questionnaire
This will include the following areas of well-being: stress, exercise, nutrition, mental health, financial security and sleep.
  • Support to consider your own sense of well-being
What areas of your health do you feel satisfied with and what areas do you want to focus on? You’ll be guided through exploring your sense of well-being to more fully consider what you know is working and what's not.
  • A conversation about what's next
How do you want to move forward? Learn about free (and highly discounted) services and programs led by health professionals at UK who are dedicated to supporting your health and well-being, and choose a next step.

When can I participate?

Because of COVID-19, we are moving to a virtual format beginning in Spring 2021. In an effort to serve a variety of groups within our UK community, we will offer Well-being Check In appointments during the following eligibility windows so everyone can participate every other year.

UK campus employees Spring 2021
College of Ag Extension Agents or out of area employees Spring 2021
ARMS, ESH, and spouses on a UK health insurance plan Spring 2021
UK retirees and retirees’ spouses Summer/Fall 2021
KCTCS and spouses with UK health insurance plan Summer/Fall 2021
New UK employees: hired on or after December 7, 2020 (on-campus) Spring 2021
UK employees' spouses/sponsored dependents Summer/Fall 2021

$100 rebate

The $100 rebate will not be offered during the virtual Well-being Check Ins. In its place is a lottery drawing of eight $200 prizes per month. The lottery is only available to participants on a health plan. Only those participating in a specific month will be eligible for the drawing that month. Winners will be chosen at random each month from July through December.

How do I prep for my appointment?

Log into your Health and Wellness Dashboard and fill out the questionnaire. You will then be able to schedule your appointment.

What's after my appointment?

The Well-being Check In invites greater awareness about where you are now and what to do next. Immediately after your appointment, you'll receive an email with a link to sign up for the program or service you chose as a possible next step.

When it comes to moving forward, the rest is up to you!

Frequently Asked Questions

The Well-being Check In is a free 20-minute appointment to 'Check In' on your sense of well-being. During your confidential Well-being Check In, you'll connect with a UK Health and Wellness Advisor who will support you by reviewing your answers to a pre-completed questionnaire. Your advisor will listen and work with you to discover what area of well-being matters most to you and help determine your best next step.

Please note the following guidelines, announced previously in broadcast communications. All appointments are now virtual, either by phone or Zoom.

  • UK employees (non-HealthCare): Attend an upcoming Check In before, during or after your regular work shift. If you choose to attend during your work shift, please check with your supervisor in advance to minimize any potential disruption. Register online now

No. We understand things come up and we're sorry you weren't able to attend your originally scheduled appointment. However, participants will only be entered in the lottery if they attend and complete a Well-being Check-In. We encourage you to make another appointment at your convenience

UK employees who are on a health plan will receive their lottery winnings on their UK paycheck to streamline the payment process and allow for taxation, which is required. Spouses of employees will receive their winnings through the employee's paycheck. Retirees and KCTCS employees will be mailed a check.

You must be employed at the university at the time the lottery drawing is paid in order to receive it.

Preparing for your appointment

Although all appointments are virtual, please plan to log in on time or a few minutes before your exact appointment time. Please note that logging in any earlier than five minutes before your scheduled appointment is unnecessary. It is unlikely that you will be seen earlier than your scheduled appointment.

Little to no time at all! Please plan to log in for your scheduled appointment, or three to five minutes before your exact appointment time.

We understand that things come up and sometimes you cannot avoid running late. We recommend that you still log in and we will do our best to get you in – though if you are more than two minutes late you may not be seen close to your originally scheduled time since we must honor the scheduled appointment times for participants logging in on time. If you log in at any point beyond your scheduled appointment time, please be aware that you may have to wait and/or you may not be able to be seen that day.

Your Well-being Check In should last approximately 20 minutes from your scheduled appointment time to the time you finish.

Log in to your Health and Wellness Dashboard and schedule your appointment details. You will fill out a questionnaire and upon completion, you will confirm your appointment.

Illness, scheduling conflicts and life sometimes just get in the way! If you are unable to make your appointment, you will be able to cancel your appointment online. Cancellations can be filled on the same day - even during the same hour. Cancel using your Health and Wellness dashboard.

We are serving a large population with these offerings and we hope to serve you! However, if you miss three appointments without notification, you will no longer be able to make a Well-being Check In appointment. This policy is to prevent repeat missed appointments and therefore increase the number of people we reach – other participants who are waiting for a spot will thank you!
