The Business of Fraud

December 4, 2019
8:00 am – 10:00 am
220 Scovell Hall Suite 2

Fraud is not accidental or inadvertent, but rather a deliberate act committed for personal gain. In the workplace, it is usually planned and executed from the current circumstances. According to the Association of Fraud Examiners (ACFE) 2008 annual report, seven percent of an organization's annual revenue is lost to fraudsters. The ACFE has been studying fraud since 1996 and has found that business organizations that have the preventative measures in place have reduced their fraud losses significantly. This presentation will examine industry trends, benchmarking data, fraud prevention, organizational impact, and fraud indicators.
