Apple and Adobe Conduct Training on UK’s Campus
POSTED: JULY, 25 2012
UKIT sponsored two vendor visits to campus during the spring. Presentations were made to full houses, including standing room only, for Apple iBooks Author and ePubs as well as for a preview of Adobe’s Creative Suite.
In March, Apple held three sessions on March 8 featuring “Made for Learning” presentations. IT staff learned how to deploy and manage iOS devices, including iPads, iPhones, and iPod Touches. They also heard about mobile app licensing as well as common issues and solutions in supporting iOS device users. A second session featured mobile content development with iBooks Author, ePubs, Quicktime, and more. The third sessions covered an introduction and basics in Lion, iCloud, the iTunes Store, and the Mac App Store; using iOS devices in education; and a sneak peek of Mountain Lion.
On May 10, Adobe presented an introduction to the new Adobe Creative Suite, CS6. Participants saw the latest product features of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and additional applications. The review showed how the tools could be used to edit photos, draw graphics, produce video, and publish to print, digital, and mobile devices.
