University of Kentucky Information Technology Services (ITS) is announcing the next phase in the Identity Management (IdM) Account Deprovisioning process. Starting Oct. 26, 2020, ITS will begin a new process that will automatically remove access and accounts for university systems and products for faculty and staff as they depart from UK.
This process is very important to enhance the cybersecurity of systems and data at the University of Kentucky. At this time, accounts being compromised due to inactivity is one of the most common threats to students, faculty and staff. The best way to combat this threat is to begin removing accounts that are no longer active with the university.
Below are highlights of this process:
This project is led by the guiding principles in Administrative Regulation 10:1. More detailed information can be found in Former Staff and Faculty Account De-Provisioning. For questions about the Identity Management (IdM) Account Deprovisioning Project please email ITSaboutYou@uky.edu.
In conjunction with this process, ITS has launched the new myDocs self-service document portal at mydocs.uky.edu. This portal allows for former students, faculty and staff to obtain important documents (e.g., student 1098-T, unofficial transcripts, W-2s, pay stubs) after departing from the university. For instructions on how to access the myDocs portal, visit How to Use The myDocs Document Portal in the Tech Help Center.
ITS appreciates everyone's continued support in the cybersecurity efforts of the systems and data at the University of Kentucky.
