International Calling Cards Update
POSTED: JULY 25, 2012
On October 1, 2011, UKIT Communications and Network Systems (CNS) distributed calling cards that were required to be used to place international phone calls from UK telephones.
UKIT CNS is now developing a direct dial solution that will enable departments with VoIP phones to place international calls without the need of a calling card. This solution will be available for VoIP users beginning in August 2013. VoIP users will still need to use the International Calling cards until this date.
International calling cards can be requested by department administrators for analog phone users at: www.uky.edu/ukat/cns/calling_cards. Instructions for using International calling cards are available on the back of the card.
Basic instructions for using an International Calling Card include:
1. From an UK office phone: Dial 9-1-866-546-2287.
2. At the prompt: Enter the authorization code (the 14 digit number on front of card).
3. At the next prompt: Enter 011 followed by the phone number you are calling”)
For additional questions about using an International calling card, contact the UKIT Service Desk at 859-218-HELP (4357).
