Phishing Warning: Office 365 Account Termination

Recently, Information Technology Services (ITS) has been made aware of a new Office 365 Account Termination scam. This scam consists of a customer receiving an email notifying them that they have requested to have their email terminated, and the process has begun, including a link to click to cancel the termination.

We ask that you share this warning and remind colleagues not to provide information or click on links or attachments in emails that are unexpected and/or from unfamiliar people.
What should you do if you have entered your credentials as a result of a phishing attack?

  • Change your password immediately via the UK Account Manager here:
  • Call ITS Customer Services at 859-218-HELP (4357)  

How to detect a potential scam:

  • Poor syntax and/or grammar
  • An unspecified sender
  • Links that ask you to click onto a address for “secure verification”
  • A fake reply address e.g.,  (UK does not have a chancellor)
