LGBTQ* Student Collective
The LGBTQ* Student Collective is a group allows officers or designated members to attend monthly meetings to discuss topical concerns, develop leadership skills, request funds and express concerns. These monthly meetings will include presentations or topical discussions such as: funds and fundraising, member engagement and retention, supporting members and individuals, short and long-term planning, collaboration.
Outcomes of this initiative are to:
- Address concerns, questions, needs et al.
- Strengthen connection between officers and community
- Create more impactful student meetings and events
- Decrease repeating/similar events
- Connect students to resources
As a benefit, active participation in this collective allows student organizations to request funds from the Office of LGBTQ* Resources through the Student Funding Application.
Student Funding Application
The Office of LGBTQ* Resources supports student led programs and initiatives and has developed an initiative that will fund proposals for student-led endeavors. Requests for collaborative planning and programming directed beyond the organization’s membership or individual is encouraged. Funding of up to $400 for the academic year for each group or student organization applying is available at the Office’s discretion. For the 2019-20 academic year, these funds are available to active members of the LGBTQ* Student Collective.
