Kentucky LGBTQ* Oral Histories

OUTSOUTH LGBTQ+ Oral History Project

The OUTSOUTH LGBTQ+ Oral History Project is a collaboration between the University of Kentucky's Louie B. Nunn Center for Oral History and Office of LGBTQ* Resources. The project's two central goals are:

  1. To serve as a unique repository for preserving the stories of LGBTQ* Southerners and/or individuals who have made significant contributions to LGBTQ* life in the US South
  2. Provide a platform for highlighting other gender and sexuality related oral history projects that currently exist or are in development, ensuring easier access to these valuable resources for scholars and others wishing to explore our rich histories
